Individual Reiki sessions are touch optional and trauma informed / resiliency focused. My approach to Reiki begins with our first conversation. My goal is to make sure we create a safe space in which to work. I’ll ask you to complete an intake form with optional questions to help me best understand you and help us create a way to work together that will be the most beneficial for you.
Before we begin a session, we’ll chat a little to answer any questions you may have, get to know each other, and help you relax. You may wish to share your intentions for the session as you are comfortable, and we will discuss boundary setting for touch. This is done each session, as I understand your needs may be different from one session to the next.
You make the choices:
Then, with your consent, we will begin the session which generally lasts about 30-45 minutes, and can be paused or stopped at any time for any reason. We’ll end with a check in, to allow you to process and share about the experience if you wish. I may also share any insights I may have received intuitively, if you are interested.
I believe in the value of every individual and recognize the impact of stress, trauma, and oppression on individuals, our community, and our environment.
I believe Reiki should be available to everyone, including those who have not previously been able to access Reiki due to financial barriers. Because Reiki has been historically inaccessible to many people, I seek to include those who have been excluded from these services with a focus on accessibility and representation. My practice is dedicated to removing the barriers that have kept, and often still keep, people from accessing Reiki as a tool for balance, healing and spiritual growth.
I seek to work within an anti-oppression framework. I provide services from a trauma-informed framework and work from a social justice and harm reduction perspective.
As a member of the LGBTQIA community, and as a white woman who cares deeply about social justice and equity, my vision is to make Reiki accessible to everyone who wishes to experience it. I humbly offer my services particularly to LGBTQIA, BIPOC (Black, Indigenous, People of Color), and nonbinary folx. I have particular interest in supporting those who are most directly impacted by the racism, patriarchy, heteronormativity and other forms of oppression at play in our lives.
I use tools and techniques that encourage self-empowerment, grounding, and boundary setting. I am committed to offering anti-oppressive, culturally appropriate spiritual practices.
